Candidlyst does not keep a server-side database of your career history. It also does not pretend AI can work without seeing the relevant content.
What stays local
Your Job Preferences, Background Digest, Master Resume Bank, Writing Rules, Application Library, and settings are stored in your browser on your machine.
What gets processed
When you ask AI to analyze or generate something, the relevant job or career content is sent to the AI provider for that action.
Plain-language privacy model
No Candidlyst account database stores your resume, job preferences, or application history in the current version. Each AI request is processed and returned to your browser, where the result is saved locally. Export and import controls let you back up or move your data.
The planned hosted version will introduce optional account-based storage for people who want cross-device sync. A local, no-company-database version will remain available for people who prefer it.
What Candidlyst's servers actually store
Beyond the email address you sign in with, the only other thing Candidlyst's servers store is simple transaction metadata: which type of action you ran, how many credits it cost, and when. It does not store what that action was actually for. No job title, company name, resume content, or any other specific detail ever reaches the server. The detailed history you see in your own Usage tab, with job titles and company names included, is built entirely from your local browser data, never from anything transmitted to or stored on the server.
Candidlyst also never sees or stores your payment details. Credit purchases are processed entirely through Stripe. Candidlyst's servers only ever learn that a purchase was completed, never your card number or any other payment information.
An honest note on AI resumes
Candidlyst does not invent experience. It works from your Master Resume Bank and helps express your real experience more effectively for a specific role. That is optimization, not fabrication.
